PREFACE FROM PRESIDENT OF THE ENGINEERING INSTITUTION OF CAMBODIA

            Engineering Institution of Cambodia (EIC) is an independent volunteer non-governmental Organization initiated by the national engineers referring to preliminary meeting on January 6th, 2000 at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) and then was legally recognized as a social organization on September 26th, 2000. EIC had admission member of ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (AFEO) on November 23rd, 2000. In addition, EIC is not only a member of Federation of Engineering Institutions in South East Asia and the Pacific (FEISEAP), but also a member of World Federation of Engineering Organization (WFEO).
            The Second General Assembly of EIC was held on 15-16 March 2006 under the topic “Action Sharing of Engineers in the Development” was appropriate to continuous duties of EIC in closed cooperation with members of AFEO, FEISEAP, WFEO. Referring to the Second General Assembly, in order to achieve EIC’s goal for the second mandate, the decisions are as follows:

               + Join and cooperate with the government to implement the rectangular strategy
               + Cooperate with civil societies, enterprises, national and international companies, national and international institutions
               + Challenge to conduct the research new technologies
               + Actively join the trainings
               + Promote engineering technology to the public, especially to the rural area
               + Stick persistently to professional ethics
               + Communicate and cooperate with neighbor countries and over the world
               + Behave as a technical leader to maintain   effectiveness of professional practices.

            With the considerable supports from national charitable people, national and international institutions, and devotional endeavor of EIC founders, EIC have widely been known as a social organization sharing action effectively for the development of the society.
            EIC would like to sincerely thank to national charitable people, International Labor Organization (ILO), IKRAM Training and Infrastructure Development Institute (ITiDi), Institution Professional Engineers of Japan (IPEJ), The Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS), all organizations, especially, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Culture Organization (UNESCO) that often support EIC’s activities.

            EIC would like to request national and international institutions to continue supporting EIC’s activities.
            We would like to thank in advance for your support.
            We all wish lofty aspiration successfully. The Kingdom of Cambodia has got development. The whole nation will get happiness and prosperity.
